The emirate of Sharjah has canceled all New Year celebrations including fireworks and shows in solidarity with the people of Palestinian in Gaza.
Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qassimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Council said on X, “Sharjah cancels all New Year celebrations out of solidarity with our people in Palestine.”
In a sincere expression of solidarity and humanitarian consolidation with the brothers in the Gaza Strip, the GHQ of Sharjah Police has announced that all fireworks celebrations and shows on New Year’s Eve 2024 will be banned in the emirate.

The Sharjah Police appeal to all institutions and individuals in the emirate to cooperate with them and comply with the rules, noting that all legal measures will be taken against those who fail to abide by the instructions. “Human solidarity is a culture and a well-established thought in the Emirate of Sharjah,” the GHQ of Sharjah Police added.
The government of Sharjah took the bold step due to the ongoing war in Gaza that has left 20,915 people killed and 54,918 injured in Israeli strikes since Oct. 7.
The ministry added that 241 Palestinians were killed in the past 24 hours and 382 were injured.
