The highly anticipated Bollywood remake of the popular Coke Studio Pakistan song ‘Pasoori’ has been released. The remake, titled ‘Pasoori Nu’, made its debut on Monday, June 26, following the unveiling of the teaser by the makers. While the original version was sung by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, the remake features the voices of Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar.
‘Pasoori Nu’ is featured in the film Satyaprem Ki Katha, with the music video showcasing the film’s lead actors Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani.
The makers of the movie took to social media to share the official video of the song ‘Pasoori Nu’ and wrote, “Presenting the song ‘Pasoori Nu’ from the movie Satyaprem Ki Katha. Relive the global hit! Kartik Aaryan as Satyaprem and Kiara Advani as Katha.” While the chorus of the song remains the same as the original, the rest of the song has been reworked in Hindi, considering that the original song is in Punjabi and Urdu. Rochak Kohli and Ali Sethi are responsible for the music, while Gurpreet Saini and Ali Sethi have penned the lyrics.
Opinions among fans are divided regarding the remake of the song. While some expressed their dissatisfaction, criticizing the remake for allegedly destroying both Indian and Pakistani songs, others defended Arijit Singh and praised his contribution to the song. Various comments have been pouring in, with some applauding Arijit Singh for making improvements to the original song and stating that he consistently delivers exceptional performances.
