Former Pakistani fat bowler Sikander Bakht criticized Indian captain, Rohit Sharma on the coin-tossing technique in the ongoing World Cup. Sikandar Bakht raised questions about Rohit’s wrong intentions, suggesting that Rohit may be trying to gain an advantage by throwing the coin far away from the opposing captain.
Sikandar Bakht allegedly gave this comment In an interview with Geo News, he said, “Can I mischief? I am asking a question if we can show it… When Rohit Sharma tosses, he throws the coin far, and the other captain never checks if he made the right call.”

Bakht also posted a snippet of his interview on X (formerly Twitter), along with the comment, “Very strange the way Rohit Sharma throws the coin at the toss, far away, don’t let other captains see, compared to other captains in the WC, any reason?”

This controversial assertion emerged after Rohit won the toss during the semifinal against New Zealand at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday.
However, Bakht’s suggestion was met with skepticism from former Pakistani cricket legends like Wasim Akram and Moin Khan. Akram, on ‘The Pavilion’ show on A Sports, responded, “Who said he has to throw the coin there? It is for sponsorship, for the show. The coin can go anywhere; I feel embarrassed.”
Moin Khan also dismissed Bakht’s theory, stating, “There is no such thing; I think he is mistaken. He is just creating a fuss, that’s it, nothing else. Every captain has a different way of tossing the coin; some throw it close, some throw it far.”
Returning to the on-field action, India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs, securing a spot in the World Cup final by successfully defending a massive total of 398. The second semifinal between South Africa and Australia will determine the other finalist, with the World Cup 2023 final scheduled for Sunday.
