The Afghan Cricket Board has issued a five-year suspension on cricketer Ihsanullah Jannat after verified accusations of match-fixing.
The Afghan Cricket Board stated that Ihsanullah Jannat, a batsman, violated the ICC’s anti-corruption code at the second season of the Premier League in Kabul this year. Jannat has confessed to being part of these activities.
The anti-corruption unit of the Afghan Cricket Board is currently looking into three additional players for potential involvement in match-fixing.
Ehsanullah Jannat, a 26-year-old cricketer from Afghanistan, has played for Afghanistan in three Test matches and 16 One Day Internationals. He participated in a T20 International game versus Zimbabwe in 2022.
Ehsanullah Jannat is known for being the sibling of Nowroz Mangal, who used to captain the Afghanistan cricket team. He played his final game for Afghanistan at the international level in the T20 match against Zimbabwe in 2022.
