Virginia Giuffre had previously claimed that she engaged in sexual activities with Prince Andrew, the Duke of York on three occasions between 1999 and 2002.
These encounters of Prince Andrew and Giuffre allegedly took place in London, New York, and on a private Caribbean island.
In recently unsealed court documents from New York City, Virginia Giuffre asserted that she had been compensated with thousands of dollars by the convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein for engaging in sexual activities with Prince Andrew.
The claim emerged during Giuffre’s videotaped deposition in a Florida court in January 2016, as part of a legal proceeding against former Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz. Giuffre, a non-party in the lawsuit filed against Dershowitz by her attorneys Bradley J.
Edwards and Paul G. Cassell, confirmed receiving $15,000 from Jeffrey Epstein for intimate encounters with Prince Andrew in 2011, as stated in documents obtained by PEOPLE. When asked about the currency, she clarified that the payment was made in American dollars.
Subsequently, Giuffre was questioned about whether she had paid taxes on the funds, to which she responded in the negative.
Prince Andrew has consistently refuted any allegations of misconduct.
At the age of 40, Giuffre had previously disclosed that her initial encounter with Prince Andrew occurred at the London residence of Ghislaine Maxwell when she was 17.
Maxwell, who has denied the accusations, is presently serving a 20-year sentence in federal prison for her involvement in the sex trafficking of girls alongside Epstein.
The disgraced financier passed away while awaiting trial on federal conspiracy and sex trafficking charges in 2019.
