Renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Tariq Masood has denied reports of firing on his car in Karachi, dismissing the news as baseless.
Was Mufti Tariq Masood’s car really fired upon?
Social media posts claimed that Mufti Tariq Masood’s car was attacked near Ghaggar Phatak in Karachi, resulting in the death of his driver and serious injuries to Mufti Tariq Masood.
However, an official statement from Mufti Tariq Masood’s Facebook account refuted these claims.
The social media post stated: “By the grace of Allah, Mufti sahib is safe and well. The rumors of an attack are false and baseless.”
Blasphemy Allegation
It is important to note that Mufti Tariq Masood has recently faced blasphemy accusations due to a controversial statement he made. A video of his remarks went viral on social media, with some people interpreting his words as disrespectful to Islam, the Sahaba (companions of the Prophet), and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Following the social media uproar, a blasphemy FIR was also registered against Mufti Tariq at a police station in Karachi.
Later, he released a video statement, clarifying his words and issuing an apology.
