The blocked websites were singled out for their objectionable content, falling into categories such as pornography, blasphemy, and anti-state materials. Taking an active stance, the PTA collaborated with the central bank and FIA to address concerns related to e-currency platforms and explicit websites. Moreover, the SECP proposed blocking loan lending websites, while the ISI emphasized the need to restrict malicious websites.
Notably, the PTA also responded to public apprehensions, blocking specific websites based on applications received from the general public. This proactive approach aims to create a safer online environment in line with community concerns. The government’s decisive action demonstrates its commitment to maintaining a secure and responsible digital landscape for all citizens.
