Pakistan experienced a series of earthquakes in the past 24 hours, particularly affecting the northwestern region.
According to the reports, at least three earthquakes struck parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Bajaur, Lower Dir, and Kurram. The most recent quake occurred on Sunday with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake originated near the Hindukush mountain range at a depth of 186 kilometers.
Residents in the affected areas felt the tremors and hurriedly evacuated their homes for safety. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or property damages resulting from these seismic events.
Notably, this recent seismic activity follows another earthquake that shook major cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Peshawar.
Furthermore, neighboring regions in northern India, particularly the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Punjab, also felt the impact of Saturday’s earthquakes.
As of now, authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and rescue and relief efforts have not been mobilised due to the absence of casualties and significant damages.
Meanwhile, residents in the affected regions are advised to remain vigilant and prepared for any potential aftershocks.
