Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki for Oscars?

According to recent reports, the creators of Dunki are contemplating submitting the film for consideration at the 2023 Oscars.

According to a report from Box Office Worldwide, there are indications that “Dunki” may be submitted for consideration at The Academy Awards. If this speculation holds true, it would mark Shah Rukh Khan’s third film submitted for Oscar nominations.

Notably, his 2004 release “Swades” and the 2005 film “Paheli” were both contenders for these prestigious awards. However, it is crucial to highlight that there is currently no official confirmation regarding “Dunki” being under consideration for Oscar nominations.

Released on December 21, “Dunki” narrates the poignant journey of a group of friends aspiring to relocate abroad. The storyline unfolds the adventurous tale of those opting for an unconventional pathway referred to as the Donkey Flight, illustrating the challenges they encounter along the way.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the film features prominent roles played by Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. Impressively, the movie has surpassed the Rs 300 crore mark in terms of Indian box office earnings.
