In a bid to support local businesses, the Sharjah Government has announced an incredibly generous 50% discount on fines incurred for non-renewal of business licenses. This decision was made during a meeting led by the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice-Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC).
Commencing on July 10, business owners will have a four-month window to rectify their status and take advantage of this remarkable discount. The main objective behind this initiative is to promote adherence to licensing regulations and provide much-needed financial relief to businesses in Sharjah.
Furthermore, the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) has given its approval for a memorandum of understanding between the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT). This memorandum focuses on fostering cooperation between the two entities to conduct market surveys and ensure product conformity.
The collaboration seeks to guarantee the safety and quality of products available in the local markets while also streamlining efforts at both the federal and local levels to address any concerns related to recalled or non-compliant products. As part of this initiative, a centralized database will be established, simplifying the process for dealers to report any instances of non-conforming products.
