Congratulations are for cricketer Shoaib Malik and actor Sana Javed, who have tied the knot in an intimate ceremony. The newlyweds took to social media and announced their marriage. The Dunk star has now changed her name to Sana Shoaib Malik on social media, confirming their union.

Malik and Javed shared two pictures from their wedding ceremony. “Alhamdullilah,” the post’s caption read. “And We created you in pairs.” Clad in colour-coordinated ensembles, the couple embrace each other. If anything, the announcement has laid rest to all the rumours surrounding the couple’s former marriages.

Rumours regarding the newlyweds’ former marriages have been rife for several months now. The sportsman, who had tied the knot with Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza in 2010, fathers a son with his former wife. The gossip mill has been buzzing with the ex-couple’s divorce rumours for almost two years now. While neither Malik nor Mirza has addressed the divorce still, a recent post by the tennis player had sparked rumours.

Pick wisely,” Mirza shared indirectly via the post, reigniting the rumours of trouble in paradise for her and her husband Malik.

Similarly, Javed, who had tied the knot with musician Umair Jaswal in 2020, had kept mum on the matter regarding their personal lives. The former couple got married in an intimate affair in October 2020.

Rumours regarding their divorce were ignited when Javed and Jaswal removed pictures of one another from their social media profiles.

As Malik and Javed announce their union, eagle-eyed fans have caught onto their love story. The cricketer had previously wished his now-wife on social media last year on the latter’s birthday. Sharing a picture with the Sukoon star, Malik shared, “Happy Birthday, buddy.”

In 2022, when the discourse regarding the actor’s ‘diva’ behaviour made rounds on social media, Malik came to her defence and lent her support online. In a now resurfaced tweet, the cricketer had shared, “I have known Sana Javed for quite some time now and have had the opportunity to work with her multiple times, from my personal experience I can only say that she has always been kind & courteous towards me & the people around us.”
