In yet another distressing incident in the federal capital of the country, a woman was reportedly sexually assaulted by a man near a hiking trail in Islamabad’s Margalla Hills. The victim reported the incident to the Islamabad Capital Territory police and filed a complaint against a man named Noman, whom she accused of raping her. The woman, who is a resident of Sheikhupura, stated that she was enticed to come to the capital with the promise of a job opportunity.
According to the complaint, the victim paid Rs80,000 to Noman in hopes of securing a good job, and she was scheduled to have a meeting at her supposed office in the coming days. However, the accused deceived her into visiting hiking trail-3 in the Margalla Hills, where he sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. The victim has requested a medical examination to provide evidence of the sexual assault.
Furthermore, the man threatened the woman, warning that he would shoot her if she disclosed the incident to anyone. After the assault, he dropped her off at a bus stop in Rawalpindi.
The Kohsar Police station has registered a case, and the Islamabad police force has initiated an investigation into the matter.
